Me: Explain in teenaged speak why a neutral conductor can be smaller than a line conductor in a split phase system?
AI: ok ok so
imagine your two hot dudes (L1 & L2) are like twin brothers in a tug-of-war. when they pull equally hard against each other, the rope (neutral) just vibes in the middle: zero stress, barely any pull. the neutral only has to catch what’s left over when one side is slackin’. so you can totally use a skinnier rope ’cause it’s only handling the leftovers, not the full beef-battle.
